Destiny 2: How to change the bungie

Destiny 2 has finally full crosplay and everyone is assigned a bungie name that replaces his existing username. Your Steam ID, Xbox Gamer Day, PSN ID and Stadia ID are still linked to your account, but the bungie name system will be used in the future for friendly inquiries and party invitations. If you log in for the first time, your display name is similar to your existing username, but you can change it to another if necessary. So you change your bungie name in Destiny 2.

How to change your bungie name in Destiny 2

Bungie names can not be changed at the start of CrossSPlay in Destiny 2. However, if the function is available, you can change your bungie name as follows:

  • Go to Bungie.net and click on My Account at the top right
  • Sign up by selecting the platform on which you play Destiny 2
  • Click on your account symbol in the upper right corner after logging in
  • Select Settings and then navigate to the Identity position section
  • Enter your desired bungie name in the Display name section and click Save.

Your new display name is automatically applied to the game at the next login. Bungie names may be a maximum of 26 characters long. Your platform name (your PSN, Steam or Xbox name) is still visible in the game, but only appears on the Roster screen of the Director.

How to change the bungie name in the mobile app

You can also change your ad names with the Destiny 2 Accompanying app if you want and the process is largely the same. To change your name in the app, follow these steps:

  • Open the Destiny 2 companion app
  • Sign up with the platform on which you play Destiny 2
  • Navigate to the Account Settings page
  • Locate the section Show name under Identity positions
