Destiny 2 releases a new trailer, but an alien is not official. Bungie uses fan-art - What does artist and studio say to the situation?
On September 24, the Official Twitter account of Destiny 2 released a new video to make the keepers on the upcoming Witch Queen extension. In the clip, as in every second detective movie, as Ikora walls are full of photos, glue, and even red threads staring and trying to make a rhyme on the next threat.
It s about Schar-Gods and betrayal. You can see the bizarre aliens who have to deal with the guardians. But one of these aliens is not the official alien. In the trailer, it should be clear and clearly fan-art. The Creator of the false recognizes his work and speaks a word.
That s the wrong alien:
What about the Greeks Ares is with the crowd of Destiny Xivu Arath - the goddess of the war. So far, the players of this alien did not face themselves. There is only a few concept species, even if the figures in the story of an ever greater role play.
That there are so few pictures of it, Bungie is now on the feet: in the trailer 42 two drawings from Xivu Arath are on the left. It is a fan-style, no official pictures of Bungie.
Since the keepers of each puzzle and snippets of Destiny 2 analyze twice, quickly fell on, Bungie has done a fauxpas. What does the Creator of the Fan Art say?
I do not get theft
The Creator reacts: Forbes asked the original artist, Relay314 / times e. Let E confirmed that Bungie did not ask for permission or announced the use otherwise (via Forbes).
The Creator of the Fan Art also replied that there was no wrong game here, it was 100% a crazy mistake. Furthermore, it means that you do not apply theft and inspired by bungie s art design.
The almost identical pictures of Xivu Arath posted E already October 2020:
The whole situation booted on the weekend and the players expressed themselves from embarrassing thing bungie , to heavy allegations.
YouTube channel Hoen Law , which deals with the legal aspects of the gaming, uses the bungie fauxpas now as a lesson to their latest learning video. There is then copyright injury, the right of fan-type from the point of view of a lawyer (via youtube).
Bungie admits confusion - asks for permission in retrospect
That says the Destiny Developer: BUNGIES Community Manager Cozmo jumps in the evening for the Destiny developer on the evening of September 27th.
The studio and the creates of the Fan Arts have come into contact now - it came to a confusion by Bungie, according to the community manager:
When creating this post [of the trailer] there was a confusion and [works by] @ relay314 were inadvertently used. We have contacted him and receive permission to use his work, and now give him the recognition for this great community representation of Xivu Arath.

Let E now jokes pride that he has made it into an official trailer of Destiny 2 (Via Twitter). There is no evil blood between artists and Destiny developers and the confusion has been confirmed.
What do you think of the incident? Can you understand that one goes out of official artwork with such talented artists and Bungie are not angry, as well as the Creator does not? Or is you embarrassing the situation?
